夏禮章／60年代紅歌手Neil Sedaka 跨界發表古典新作

紐約布魯克林出生的1960年代紅歌手Neil Sedaka (圖／達志影像提供) ，10月17日與倫敦交響樂團在皇家阿爾伯特音樂廳合作演出生平第一首鋼琴協奏曲，演出的是他自己的作品"Manhattan Intermezzo"「曼哈坦間奏曲」，Neil Sedaka曾於著名的茱莉亞音樂學院主修古典鋼琴。Neil Sedaka對音樂相當有天份，從小學就開始學鋼琴，中學時代就與擅長作詞的Howard Greenfield一同寫歌，他們這一對詞曲搭擋後來在流行歌壇合作超過二十年，如Neil Sedaka的Breaking Up Is Hard To Do，Connie Francis的Where The Boys Are ，The Captain ＆Tennille的Love Will Keep Us Together都是他們倆的傑作。Neil Sedaka推出過很多受歡迎的歌，1974年Neil應Elton John之邀加入他的Rocket唱片公司，東山再起仍推出過不少暢銷曲，他在排行榜名次最好的歌是1962年2周冠軍的Breaking Up Is Hard To Do，以慢板重唱的此曲在1975年獲得過第8名。 Neil Sedaka在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第79名，
